The media: We aren’t saying it was Russia but it was Russia
last night and all day today i’m seeing people’s pictures on facebook, hearing stories about people they used to know. innocent people who went on holiday and died. a family with four children, a hard-working couple. enthusiastic posts about going on holiday with a bunch of comments to wish them a great time, then talking about the news and how they are hoping it wasn’t their flight, but it was. 298 people suddenly dead. if only they had missed their flight, if only they had gone a week later, what are the odds really.. it makes me feel sad and overwhelmed.
so today I heard that after lots of stress and hard work I passed my Arabic resit, meaning I passed all my courses from my first year at uni. looking back I can’t quite believe I made it after wanting to give up so many times, skipping so many classes and being constantly worried I wasn’t doing enough. having your heart broken can surely fuck up your life but at least I didn’t let it fuck up my future.
women are more likely than men to develop a mental illness but you rarely hear about women going on shooting sprees because men won’t be with us or love us or fuck us, bottom line, if you’re willing to relate mental illness and mass murder while also refusing to relate misogyny to women dying at the hands of men, then bye bye no time for you
